Quantity Surveyor - AMETI
Job no: 507392
Work type: Permanent - Full-time
Categories: Commercial, Engineering (all disciplines)
We are delivering phase two of the AMETI Eastern Busway - Panmure to Pakuranga project. This is a highly complex program of works delivering better public transport to East Auckland. It requires intricate traffic management plans and logistical management to minimise impact to the travelling public. With a value in excess of $100m, this two year project involves the delivery of the second section of the busway, upgrading the Panmure roundabout and building a new busway bridge across the Tamaki River with a wide shared path for cyclists and pedestrians alongside the existing road bridge.
This project caters to those who enjoy a technical challenge: a steel ladder structure bridge that will be launched into position, piling off staging using marine gear in a highly sensitive marine environment, and a large number of retaining walls that are very complex in design.
As a highly motivated Civil Quantity Surveyor with 5 to 10 years’ experience, you will get heavily involved in pricing, procurement, variations, cost control, forecasting and work closely with the project team during closeout for compliance and handover. A key member within the project team, you will work closely with a Zone Manager, supporting strong commercial controls on the project and ensuring robust contractual agreements are in place to deliver a quality project on time and to budget.
You are a team player who can successfully work with a wide range of key stakeholders, particularly with the client and subcontractors. One of the best selling points about our project is the team that we have working on it – everyone is committed and passionate about doing their best and as a result there is a very connected team in place delivering the project.
You will have the following:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or Engineering
- Experience working as a QS on large civil projects
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract management, performance reporting and budget preparation
- A keen attention to detail and accuracy
- A commitment to Health and Safety
