You will be working alongside industry leading technical experts with this fantastic opportunity to gain valuable pavement engineering design and construction experience. As a core member of the Pavement & Materials Engineering solutions team, you will be working on a range of exciting and challenging projects that include multi-million dollar roading projects, industrial developments, and researching and implementing new innovations. 

This position is primarily responsible for pavement related aspects of Fulton Hogan's pavement design, materials, construction and rehabilitation work throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. This includes site assessments, investigations, design, documentation, technical supervision and post construction evaluation. You will provide technical support and advice for roads, ports, airports and heavy duty industrial pavements. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Successful delivery of design requirements for projects
  • Driving continuous improvement within the maintenance and construction functions
  • Completing pavement designs
  • Direct involvement in tendering
  • Undertaking field inspections
  • Providing construction phase services
  • Leading a safety first approach across the business in line with Fulton Hogan “Living Safely” Culture


The Candidate

We are after a candidate who has experience with pavement materials, construction and / or maintenance. We will provide full training on the required job tasks, although you will be expected to have an understanding of the fundamentals of pavements supported by a relevant tertiary qualification.

We are also looking for someone who has the following:

  • Motivation to learn new skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Ability to work effectively with the different business streams through proactive collaboration
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
