We are gearing up to deliver phase two of the AMETI Eastern Busway - Panmure to Pakuranga project. This is a highly complex program of works delivering better public transport to East Auckland. It requires intricate traffic management plans and logistical management to minimise impact to the travelling public. With a value in excess of $100m, this two year project involves the delivery of the first section of the busway, upgrading the Panmure roundabout and building a new busway bridge across Tamaki River with a wide shared path for cyclists and pedestrians alongside the existing road bridge.
This project caters to those who enjoy a technical challenge: a steel ladder structure bridge that will be launched into position, piling off staging using marine gear in a highly sensitive marine environment, and a large number of retaining walls that are very complex in design. With construction starting in early 2019, we are keen to have an experienced Document Controller join our team as soon as possible.
Working alongside some of New Zealand’s most talented Civil Construction professionals, you will be exposed to the inner workings of one of Auckland’s most crucial Civil Infrastructure projects.
As the Document Controller, you will be the Gate Keeper of all project drafts, reports, engineering records, quotes and other confidential project-related paperwork. This is a crucial role on this project - we value confidentiality and ensuring that the correct information is shared with the right people, without issue.
In addition to this, you will be maintaining the documentation/records management system and document control registers for the project, ensuring the accurate and timely records of all project-related documentation, including subsequent alterations that occur to these documents, is kept in the right place and is at your fingertips at all times. Responsibilities will include document retention, retrieval and filing of all project documentation, issuing and distributing documentation to the right stakeholders, issue and revision control of all construction drawings,
From the beginning of this project it is imperative that you are working towards your end goal, where you will assist in compiling a Project Handover Manual for the client, which will provide a helpful source of information on service and advice regarding the best use of the completed project for them.
Do you live by the mantra “there is a place for everything and everything in its place”? Do you enjoy creating processes and procedures? If you answered ‘yes’ to both of these questions; this could well be the perfect opportunity for you!
As our Document Controller, you use your organisational skills to the fullest and become the point of contact for all enquires related to important paperwork on the project. A true team player, you will enjoy being at the heart of things, take pride in the fact you know exactly where documents are and be the expert that works closely other team members such as the Engineering and Project Controls teams to ensure they have the information they need. A Records & Information or Construction engineering qualification will be advantageous. On-the-job training and support will be provided.
In this role you will be challenged and be able to apply your:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word
- IMS knowledge
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Previous experience compiling and producing cogent procedure manuals/documents
- Attention to detail and initiative
- Ability to learn and develop new systems quickly
- Prior construction experience is an advantage but not a requirement
