Class 2 Civil Works Operator - West Auckland

About the role:

Our West Auckland Branch has a number of on-going civil works maintenance projects currently, with more expected in early 2019. As such, the West Auckland team is in need of at least two Class 2 Endorsed Labourers/Operators to join them as soon as possible. The work is quite varied, and accordingly, the team will need people who are comfortable making sensible and practical decisions about the way they approach their work.

The type of work that these roles are responsible for a cyclic in nature and include:

  • Pothole repairs
  • Footpath maintenance
  • Vegetation clearing
  • Drainage maintenance
  • Emergency responses and call-outs
  • Network inspections
  • Collaborative team work, under the direction of a Foreman

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Comfortable making sensible and practical decisions about how to approach work “in the field”
  • A full Class 1 and Class 2 endorsement (mandatory)
  • WTR endorsements (ideal, but not a deal breaker)
  • Own reliable transport to work
  • Happy to lift up to 20kgs in a single lift
  • Good knowledge of West Auckland’s geography
  • Prior civils experience or experience of sealed road network maintenance is preferred
