Fulton Hogan are now seeking expressions of interest from experienced Fibre Splicers & Testers for our national telecommunications business, on projects based out of Perth.

Working closely with the project team, you will be responsible for duties including;

  • Inspecting, cleaning and handling optical fibre cable and connectors
  • Testing and commissioning live fibre
  • Splicing and terminating optical fibre cable for carriers and service providers
  • Reading and understanding cable plans and designs
  • Exchange transfers and patching
  • Carry out works in various enclosure types, internal and external
  • Produce test results in work books
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Some experience in installation of internal conduit and mounting cabinets, and equipment would be an advantage
  • Proven commitment to promoting safety, quality and environment compliance on site

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:


  • Experience working as an Optical Fibre Technician on a major telecommunications network (Optus, Telstra, NBN etc)
  • Previous NBN experience  
  • ACMA Open Cable Registration with Fibre endorsements
  • The ability to read and understand cable plans and designs
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • White Card


  • Certificate 3 in Telecommunications
  • Optical Fibre Accreditation
  • Strong computer skills
